Brickwork is where a builder's standards show. Consistent perp joints, a clean strike, a course line you can sight down — it either looks right or it doesn't, and it can't be hidden afterwards.
We lay garden and boundary walls, structural and retaining walls, piers and gate posts, curved and decorative feature panels, and we repoint and repair failing older work with mortar matched to the original.

Proper concrete footings dug to depth for the ground conditions — the part nobody sees and everybody's wall depends on.
Laying
Set out, lined and levelled, with movement joints and weep holes where they're needed.

Struck to the finish you chose, cleaned off and the site swept before we leave.

- How high can a garden wall be without planning permission?
- Generally up to 2m, or 1m where it fronts a highway — but always worth checking with your council for your specific property.
- Can you match the brick on my old house?
- Usually yes. We source reclaimed or closely matched stock and match the mortar colour and joint profile too, which matters just as much.
- Do retaining walls need anything special?
- Yes — proper footings, reinforcement and drainage behind the wall. A retaining wall built like a garden wall will fail, and we won't build one that way.
