Patio & Paving Specialists

Patios & Paving done properly.

Porcelain, sandstone, limestone and reclaimed flag patios laid on full mortar beds with proper falls and drainage.

Our approach to patios and paving.

A patio is only as good as what's under it. We dig out to depth, lay and compact a proper MOT sub-base and bed every slab on a full wet mortar bed — no dot-and-dab, no spot bedding, no sunken corners two winters later.

Porcelain, Indian sandstone, limestone, granite setts and reclaimed York stone: we lay them all, set falls away from the house and get the drainage right so you're not standing in a puddle every November.

How it works

From first call to final clean-down.

01

Layout and levels

We set out the shape, check levels against your damp-proof course and plan falls and drainage before anything is dug.

02

Excavation and sub-base

Dug to depth, membrane down, MOT Type 1 laid and whacker-plated in layers.

03

Laying

Full mortar bed, primed slab backs on porcelain, consistent joints and a laser-checked fall.

04

Jointing and wash off

Brush-in or slurry jointing to suit the stone, then a full clean down and site clear.

FAQs

Patios & Paving — common questions

Porcelain or sandstone — which is better?
Porcelain is harder wearing, doesn't stain and stays looking new; sandstone has more character and suits period properties. Both last if they're laid properly, and that's the real variable.
How long does a patio take?
A typical 25–40m² patio is around one to two weeks including groundwork, depending on level changes, steps and access.
Will you take the old patio away?
Yes — excavation, skips and waste removal are included in our quotes so there's no nasty extra at the end.
