Extension Builders

House Extensions done properly.

Single and double-storey rear extensions, side returns, wrap-arounds and garage conversions, built from foundation to finish.

Our approach to house extensions.

An extension is the biggest thing most people ever have done to their home, and it's the job where cutting corners shows up first. We build extensions from the dig down: foundations, drainage diversions, brickwork, steels, roof, windows, plaster and finish.

We work to your architect's and engineer's drawings, liaise with Building Control at each inspection stage, and keep the existing house watertight and liveable for as long as possible before the break-through.

FAQs

House Extensions — common questions

How long does a single-storey extension take?
Typically 10 to 16 weeks from breaking ground to finished, depending on size, ground conditions and how quickly decisions and materials land.
Do I need planning permission?
Many rear extensions fall under permitted development, but it depends on size, your property type and whether you're in a conservation area. We'll tell you honestly what we think and when you need to check with the council.
Can we stay in the house during the build?
Usually yes. We sequence the work so the break-through into the existing house happens as late as possible and keep the site sealed and clean.
