Tiling problems almost always start behind the tile: an unlevel substrate, the wrong adhesive, or tanking that was skipped in a wet area. We prep properly — boarding, levelling, priming and tanking — before the first tile goes up.
Large-format porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, metro and patterned floor tiles: set out from the centre lines that matter, cut cleanly around fittings, and grouted and silicone-sealed to a neat finish.

Substrate check
We check the wall or floor is flat, sound and suitable, and board, level or prime it where it isn't.
Set out
Dry-laid and set out so cuts land where they look deliberate, not awkward corners of half tiles.
Fix
Correct adhesive for the tile and substrate, full-bed on large format, consistent joint spacing throughout.
Grout and seal
Grouted, cleaned off and silicone sealed to internal corners and junctions.
Tiling — common questions
- Can you tile over existing tiles?
- Sometimes — if the existing tiles are sound, flat and well bonded. More often it's better to take them off and start with a proper substrate, and we'll tell you which one your job needs.
- Do you supply the tiles?
- You can supply your own or we can source them. Either way we'll advise on quantities so you're not short mid-job or paying for three spare boxes.
- Do wet rooms need tanking?
- Yes, always. Any fully wet area gets a proper tanking system before tiling — it isn't an optional extra.
